Work Experience

Metos NV

Draftsman

2006-2007

As part of the Ali Group, METOS is among the top three companies worldwide in the professional kitchen equipment industry. By selecting appropriate equipment and designing efficient commercial kitchen layouts, METOS enhances clients’ operational performance.

In my role, I was responsible for conceiving and developing intelligent kitchen layouts, focusing on functionality, workflow optimization, and overall efficiency.

PVD

Product design

2007 – 2008

PVD Verlichting is a Belgian design and manufacturing company specializing in innovative lighting solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications.

In my role, I was responsible for overseeing the full production and assembly process, as well as contributing to product design and the development of supporting promotional materials.

Philips Consumer Luminaires

Senior Designer

2008 – 2015

Philips Consumer Luminaires focuses on consumer lighting, with brands including Massive, Lirio, Philips inStyle, myLiving, myGarden, Ledino, Ecomoods, Hue, LivingColors, as well as collaborations with Disney.

As a designer within the design team, I collaborate closely with product management to develop design briefs and translate them into compelling product concepts. Using renders created in UX and KeyShot, concepts are evaluated and selected for further development into functional prototypes.

These prototypes are presented to the international product management team for review and selection. Following approval, I work intensively with engineering, project management, and quality engineering to support the development and successful production of new products within the portfolio.

Eurodisplay

Senior Product Designer

2016 –2019

At Eurodisplay, we design and develop in-store displays, shelf presentations, shop-in-shop concepts, and interactive POS solutions, all with the goal of strengthening consumer engagement with brands.

As a designer, I focus on presenting clients’ products in the most effective way. Through sketching and 3D modeling, I develop concepts that clearly communicate materials, functionality, and overall design intent. My work consistently emphasizes cost-efficient solutions while maintaining an innovative approach to stay ahead of the competition.

Freelance Designer (2017 – 2019)

Freelance designer for Waterwei and ST & ST (China), focusing on consumer products with a strong technological component, including high-end LED solutions, outdoor applications, and integrated mobile charging systems within lighting fixtures.

In this role, I translate client needs into refined, user-centered product designs that integrate form and technology. Starting from initial sketches, I develop comprehensive concept presentations supported by detailed 3D models.

Following concept approval, I define materials and manufacturing processes in close collaboration with the client, ensuring feasibility and alignment with production capabilities. I also oversee the development process, working alongside engineering to produce detailed mechanical drawings and initiate prototype development.

ETAP International

Senior product designer

2019 – Present

ETAP delivers advanced lighting solutions for industrial, office, and healthcare environments. Throughout the product development process, strong emphasis is placed on lifecycle thinking and circularity, ensuring that products and services are designed with sustainability, longevity, and resource efficiency in mind.

In this role, I am responsible for the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation through to final packaging. Leveraging advanced 3D modeling and prototyping, I develop high-quality, performance-driven products in close collaboration with in-house electronics engineering.

I also play a key role in setting up and optimizing production and assembly processes, ensuring efficient and scalable manufacturing. Structured methodologies such as DFMEA and PFMEA are integral to my approach, enabling risk mitigation and continuous improvement. Throughout the process, I maintain a strong focus on balancing product quality with cost efficiency.

Realization Phase: Translation of selected concepts into detailed designs, including engineering development, materialization, and iterative prototyping to validate functionality, performance, and manufacturability.

Concept Phase: Generation of ideas through sketching, development of morphological charts, concept creation, and the production of 3D renders and initial prototypes.

Implementation Phase: Industrialization of the product, including close collaboration with production engineering to define assembly processes, tooling, and workflow optimization for efficient manufacturing.

General Availability: Final validation and release to market, ensuring product quality, compliance, cost targets, and a successful transition into full-scale production.
